When i look at this photo it reminds me of depression. One is the coloring because of being in color it is black and gray. Also it is a mother and her two children and the way she look lets you they are in the great depression. How the children are looking away from the camera and the children are dirty. Since they are dirty and in bad clothing empshize that they are poor. The mother might just have lost her job looking at time it was taken.
